What is Defence Cyber Certification (DCC)?

The certification framework is split into four levels:
- Level 0 – The foundation level, designed to help organisations understand their cyber security responsibilities and establish baseline protections.
- Level 1 – Introduces additional security controls and governance requirements to enhance protection across the organisation.
- Level 2 – Builds on the previous levels with more advanced security measures, demonstrating a greater level of cyber maturity.
- Level 3 – The highest level currently available, requiring robust cyber security practices and evidence that security is embedded throughout the organisation.
Cyber Essentials plays an important role within the DCC journey and provides a recognised starting point for many organisations working towards certification.
